Would you like to play an instrumental role in building the unique physical universe of a leading outerwear lifestyle brand? By using your creative and structural toolbox, you will be designing, developing, and executing the physical presence of the brand across both internal and external brand spaces. The objective is to elevate Rains, helping it embody the future of retail and physical brand experience.

The Role

As Retail architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering ambitious showrooms, brand shops, concept- and flagship stores across the world. You will be based in Rains’ headquarters in Aarhus and will report to our Head of Expansion.

Your responsibility will cover both element design as well as floorplans, space design and contact to external contractors. As Retail Architect, you will be part of a new Activation team responsible for delivering high quality turnkey projects across wholesale and retail, including 45 concept and flagship stores within key European metropolises by 2025.

Retail design

• Floorplan solutions

Concept development

• Dynamic element collabs
• External consultancies
• Fixture and POS design
• Functionality optimization
• Materials and surfaces
• Concept and creative direction

Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role (lifestyle brands would be a plus)
• Proven experience of successful retail design
• Solid 3D visualization skills
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Experience in communication and working with contractors
• Hands-on and execution-oriented mindset
• Strategic with ability to translate overall strategy into physical spaces
• Strong communication skills in written and verbal English
• High travel flexibility
